As you look at yourself in the mirror, you may notice areas of your body that need improvement, despite your best efforts to maintain your appearance. Most notably, you may detect stubborn pockets of fat, particularly in the abdominal region. As a result, you may wonder if it may be time to look more closely at liposuction to address your problem areas. Here, Dr. Paul Pin discusses three signs that may indicate it's time to consider liposuction.

Finishing Touches for a Wellness Lifestyle

Liposuction is designed to remove fat deposits that have not diminished despite your regular exercise program and sensible, balanced diet that is low in fat. The truth is that the most stubborn areas of fat, such as the lower and upper abdominal regions, are often the first to show up as a result of a sedentary lifestyle. Unfortunately, this also means that these areas will often be the last to show any improvement.

If this is the case for you, it may be time to consider liposuction as a way to add the finishing touches to your hard efforts to improve the shape of your body. A liposuction procedure may provide you with that boost of confidence that will allow you to proudly show off to friends and family members the "new you" that has emerged.

Enlarged Male Breasts

Enlarged male breasts, a condition referred to as gynecomastia, are surprisingly common among teens and men, although it is most often seen during adolescence. The condition occurs as a result of a hormonal imbalance, generally when there is an excess of estrogen in the body. It can happen in either one breast or both. Although the condition can be a serious source of embarrassment, particularly for teenage boys, it will sometimes clear up on its own.

However, for those cases in which the male breasts remain enlarged, it might be time to consider liposuction as a solution to the problem. For this procedure, Dr. Pin will use ultrasound guided liposuction to help break up the fat, making it easier to remove from the body.

Facing Aging Head On

As you gain weight over time, it is not unusual for it to show up in your face. This can be seen in the form of extra fat deposits around the neck and chin, along with the formation of jowls. This is another sign that liposuction might be a good answer for keeping the face looking younger and thinner.

For facial procedures, Dr. Pin will often use the ultrasound technique, as it is particularly well suited to removing pockets of fat that are difficult to reach, as is often the case with the face. Ultrasound-assisted liposuction also uses smaller incisions than traditional liposuction, so there will likely be less scarring.

Now may be an excellent time to really look at yourself in the mirror and see if perhaps it might be time to consider liposuction. If so, Dr. Pin can help you determine if it is right for you.
