There is an old saying about there being no time like the present. This is certainly true when it comes to taking care of ourselves physically. It can be all too easy to take your body for granted when you are in your 20s or 30s. However, time will almost invariably catch up sooner or later as the body begins to go through the natural aging process.

This can be even more true for women, who may also see the effects of pregnancy and breastfeeding on the shape and size of their breasts. Their breasts may have drooped and sagged as a result of dramatic changes in their size and weight as a result of pregnancy, breastfeeding, or other dramatic changes in weight.

But what if there was a way to prevent drooping, sagging breasts while they are still in their more youthful shape and position? Dr. Paul Pin's expertise has allowed him to compile a list of several tips you can use to keep your breasts looking young and firm for as long as possible. Below are some of his suggestions.

Just Keep Moving

Perhaps the easiest way to keep your breasts looking young is to have a regular exercise routine that includes some form of aerobic exercise, such as jogging, walking, or swimming. Try to fit in at least 30 continuous minutes a day. Although there are no specific exercises you can do to tone your breasts, as they don't contain muscle, keeping your pectoral muscles in shape may help offset the impact of gravity on the shape and size of your breasts.

Wear a Bra

While keeping a stable weight with aerobic exercise is a great way to keep your breasts from sagging, an improperly fitted sports bra might actually undo all the effort from your workout, particularly if your breasts are on the larger side. If you do heavy aerobic exercising, such as running, your breasts will bounce up and down if you are not wearing a proper sports bra. This will place strain on the delicate breast tissue and cause it to stretch, which will eventually cause your breasts to droop and give you stretch marks.

Look for sports bras that have wide shoulder straps, a wide band underneath the breasts, and fabric that molds to the shape of the breasts. If it has an underwire, it should not poke out or make it difficult for you to breathe. Replace your sports bras once the elastic gets worn.

Stop Blowing Smoke

You have no doubt read up on all of the various health concerns regarding smoking, including lung cancer and cardiac disease. However, tobacco smoke can also be very damaging your skin, particularly breast tissue. The tobacco smoke dries out your skin, making it tough and leathery. It may also cause your skin to prematurely lose collagen, a protein that the body forms to fill out the skin over the skeletal framework. This will make your breast skin lose elasticity and start to stretch, causing sagging and drooping.

In addition to stopping smoking, now is a great time to invest in a good moisturizer just for your breasts. Use a generous amount after your bath or shower. If you are outdoors a great deal of the day, invest in a moisturizer that has a sunscreen, as the sun's rays can also dry out your breast skin.

The best time to begin a proper breast care routine is before the effects of pregnancy, breastfeeding, aging, or weight change take their toll. With just a few simple changes in lifestyle, you can keep your breasts from sagging and drooping for as long as possible.
