Breast augmentation has consistently been the most popular cosmetic surgical procedure for a number of years for women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Whether it is to boost self confidence, return sagging breasts to their more youthful appearance after childbearing and breastfeeding, or to correct for asymmetry in breast size, Dr. Paul Pin has improved the appearance of the breasts for hundreds of patients.

Size and Profile Matter

Breast implant size and profile will make a substantial difference depending upon the patient's goals, as well as overall build. For example, Dr. Pin will recommend that a patient with a narrow chest opt to go with high profile implants (in which the height of the implant is greater than the width) to avoid the crowded "uniboob" effect of the implants being placed too close together. Conversely, a patient with a wide chest should instead consider low profile implants, which have a greater width than height, so as to not have the breasts look as though they are too far apart.

In terms of size, Dr. Pin cautions that bigger may not always be better. Women with small frames may simply not have enough breast tissue to cover overly large implants, which can lead to the breast implant showing through the skin. Conversely, the breast may appear to droop if the implant is too small. Although no two patients are alike, seeing Before and After pictures can provide an idea of the results that can be achieved from a breast augmentation procedure.

Before and After Photos

Breast Augmentation - A-cup to C-cup

A Cup to a C Cup

This case is a good example of just how much fullness can be achieved from a breast augmentation, yet still result in a natural look. Despite the shift in size from an A cup to a C cup, the augmented breasts are neither too close, nor too far apart on the chest. The nipples still point forward, providing the larger breasts with a fuller, youthful appearance.

Breast Augmentation - B-cup to Large C-cup

B Cup to a C Cup

This case, on the other hand, shows that even a small increase in breast size can have dramatic effects. Despite only going from a B cup to a C cup, this patient's breasts still look fuller and natural. As with the previous case, the nipples still point forward, giving them a perky appearance.

Breast Augmentation After Weight Loss

Breast Augmentation after Weight Loss

This case is noteworthy because this patient underwent breast augmentation following dramatic weight loss. In many cases, the breasts may be one of the first areas of the body to show reduction in size after weight loss because the breasts are made up mainly of fatty tissue. Here, a breast augmentation allowed this woman to regain size in her breasts without sacrificing her weight loss goals.

Breast Augmentation to Correct Breast Asymmetry

Breast Augmentation for Asymmetry

This case is interesting because the breast augmentation was to correct for noticeable asymmetry, or difference in breast size. In this case, a moderate profile implant was used in the right breast and a low profile implant for the left one. This allowed the breasts to be of approximately equal size.

With newer materials and a wider variety of sizes and shapes from which to choose, patients now have any number of options to give them the breasts that they want. Dr. Pin can help patients select the implants that will best meet their needs.
