The American Society of Plastic Surgeons have released some plastic surgery statistics for 2010, and breast augmentation again tops of the list of the most popular surgical procedures of them all.

A total of 1,555,614 plastic surgery procedures were performed in 2010, up from 1,521,409 procedures the year before. Here is a look at the most commonly performed plastic surgery procedures:

  • Breast augmentation: 296,203, 19 percent of total procedures
  • Rhinoplasty: 252,261, 16 percent of total procedures
  • Eyelid surgery: 208,764, 13 percent of total procedures
  • Liposuction: 203,106, 13 percent of total procedures
  • Tummy tuck: 116,352, 7 percent of total procedures

While the number of plastic surgery procedures that were performed last year increased, the number is small compared to the number of non-surgical treatments patients are undergoing. A total of 11,561,449 non-invasive treatments were performed by ASPS member surgeons, with the most popular being:

  • Botox and Dysport injections: 5,379,360, 47 percent of total procedures
  • Dermal fillers: 1,773,328, 15 percent of total procedures
  • Chemical peels: 1,144,865, 10 percent of total procedures
  • Laser hair removal: 937,602 8 percent of total procedures
  • Microdermabrasion: 824,706, 7 percent of total procedures
