It is a common misconception among people trying to shed excess fat that they will not only lose that fat in every part of their body, but that it will come off evenly from each area. Unfortunately, the amount of fat you lose and the areas where you lose it, are often determined by both your body shape and genetics.

For example, excess fat around the bra area, particularly around the back and flanks, can often be stubborn in responding to weight loss. This is why Dr. Paul Pin often recommends a liposuction procedure to address those areas where fat cells may still remain once you are almost at your complete weight loss goal. What makes liposuction a good option for addressing bulging around your bra line? Read on to find out more.

Why Might Liposuction Be a Good Option?

If you have been working hard to lose weight, particularly to burn off fat, you have probably already seen a reduction in the fat that has gathered around your abdominal area, upper arms, thighs, and buttocks. Part of the reason for this is because there are exercises that can be done to specifically tone these areas and burn off excess fat.

On the other hand, there are not specific exercises to burn off excess fat in the areas around your back and flank, which are the areas that show those bulges around the area of your bra. This often means that, while you may be satisfied with your progress for the rest of your body, your back and flank areas may still require work that cannot be accomplished just with exercise and diet. This may make liposuction an excellent option to get rid of rolls of excess fat around your bra line.

Liposuction Procedure

Although it may be difficult to address back and flank fat around the bra line through exercise and diet, the good news is that a liposuction procedure for those areas of the body is actually much easier than the same procedure to address fat in the abdominal or thigh areas. While the latter areas have a large amount of tissue and muscle with which to contend, making fat removal more difficult, the back and flank areas have relatively little of both. This makes it easier for Dr. Pin to remove excess fat.

In many cases, Dr. Pin can use a modified form of a standard liposuction procedure, known as tumescent liposuction. He will first inject a mixture of a topical anesthetic and epinephrine just below the surface of your skin in those areas where he wishes to remove excess fat. The epinephrine will cause the fat cells to swell and move closer to the surface of the skin, which makes them easier to remove. Dr. Pin will then make small incisions in these areas and use a thin, hollow metal tube, called a cannula, to gently suction out the fat cells.

If you have worked hard to reach your weight loss goals, you will be eager to show off your results to friends and family. A liposuction procedure around the bra line can provide that finishing touch so that you can look your best when you reach your final fitness goal.
